Can't believe I didn't spot this earlier. Have to thank my friend for telling me about the gig on Saturday Night.
By shear coincidence I am on Holiday in Los Angeles between the 11th and 17th of February, so this gig is just unbelievably well timed. Managed to get a ticket last night on Row L.
I hope people stand up though. I hate seated gigs. It's all about the jumping up and down, waving your arms in the air, and the close proximatey of other sweaty people lol! |

Amen to that! I think it'll be physically impossible for me to NOT jump around during Kimono. |

Wow, I would do anything to see this show - I am already looking for affordable flights from Germany. This is awesome, I liked to see a SPARKS Show in the U.S. for a long time!

Hey ilzg 2000, Andrew and everyone else who likes to:
It would be great if we could get together before the concert, and after the show of course.
I just got my tickets, sadly way back in row N, because stupid me realized too late that this is a all seated concert - otherwise would've gotten my tickets earlier but it'll be great to be there anyway!
Now I'll be checking the hotels that have been mentioned - the Beverly Hilton would sure be nice but I'm not sure I can afforfd it for a few days .... [/code] _________________ Live in Las Vegas - saturday night

I plan to explore the area around UCLA for a bar where we can gather before the show on the 14th. I'm also considering a get-together at my place the night before, if enough people are interested. _________________ Interviewer: Does your long hair make you a girl?

Sounds fine, You've got mael - it would be very helpful to meet an L.A. resident! Since I have never been there before except the airport I have absolutely no idea where to go in L.A. _________________ Live in Las Vegas - saturday night

Well I am up for a get together before the concert for a pint or 2.There must be a pub somewhere close on campus to meet. All you LA Sparks fans will have to just go to UCLA and find the closest pub to the concert hall and report back to the rest of us reading the forum. We can write the info down and carry it with us when we get to LA and plan my Valentine's day to get to the pub early. Let's keep in touch and have a Sparks pre-show get together. _________________ AndrewB

This seems to be the closest bar but it's rather pricey. It's located in the W hotel. _________________ Now your jokes seem really funny

I looked at all of the establishments and the the first one which is the most expensive, appears to be the one that could hold the most Sparks fans in one sitting. The other places look like university pubs that tend to be busy on a Saturday night. I wonder if it being Valentine's day if we should pre-book one of the places for a table for...how many? All you Sparks fans that want to get together for a drink-let me know and I will pre-book a table.
PS. the table will be booked under Suburban Homeboy _________________ AndrewB

Ah, Sparks fans coming together from all corners of the globe on the most romantic day of the year to drink, listen and have a good time :) Wouldn't miss it for the world!
Regarding myself, I will be arriving in LA on the afternoon/evening of Wednesday 11th. Will be going to Disneyland on the 12th and am staying until my flight leaves on the 17th.
Now I will be staying at the LAX Marriott Hotel for all that time, and if people need it, I have a floor and at least half a bed to offer during the Sparks gig. However I am over for the Doctor Who Convention that is taking place in the same hotel, so I may not be around all the time lol. If anyone who is flying in wants to meet there, they are more than welcome. Rest of us can get together on the Saturday afternoon :) |

That's good to hear! I've been a bit worried because mine haven't arrived yet, but I'm on the East Coast so maybe I can expect them in the next couple of days. Now I just have to find affordable airfare! |
