Although the concert is in October do you think it will still go ahead given this coronavirus pandemic _________________ Calling all superfans!!!! |

I know lots of summer events have already been cancelled but I also know that some April events have been rescheduled for the summer.
Question: if the illness has 'almost' gone away, will you be willing to go see events again? Does the risk out weigh seeing your favorite artists? What about attending something because ticket prices become reasonable?
I can see me attending sporting events if ticket prices dropped...but would I be willing to take a family member?
The decisions are easy now because we are being told what to do. It will be interesting to see what happens when people make their own decisions. _________________ Billy, Don't Be A Porter |

Flights to Oslo,Amsterdam and London will all be available in the future.
I fully expect 2020 will be a “ no gig “ year - but at present no one really knows - it may well be re visited in Q4/2020 |

I have no plans to go to any gigs this year, or next year if there is still no vaccine. Too dangerous to attend gigs not knowing if the person standing or sitting next to you has the virus. |

Heard on the radio today that no concerts in the uk are being allowed until at least December...and even then depending on the virus status. |

As we've all probably realized by now, chances are slim we'll attend concerts this year. Even if some countries would allow concerts, Sparks would have large holes in their touring schedule, which would make it financially impossible.
Can't really see Ron and Russell leaving the US in the near future. Sad, but at least we have new music and more on the way soon (I hope). |

Hi Gang!
Are you making plans for the tour?
How about you Ally?!!
We already have tickets for Dublin.
I am thinking about Oslo. It would be my first time there.
So, do you think the tour will proceed as planned?
There are flights bookable from Ireland to Norway.
Do you think everything will be pretty-much normal by then?
Cheers,
Liam |

One small problem about returning to what we knew as normal, will be with hospitality...venues, pubs and hotels...
The venues will have to limit the attendees...meaning that artists might have to play more nights, to accommodate all ticket holders, for the same reimbursement and as the venue will be open extra nights they will want paying for staff and lighting etc. Can't see many bands willing to do that. Plus queues will be twice the length with social distancing measures.
Pubs, can't see how they will work it and still make a profit...or cut even. Though admittedly for concert attendees, this isn't a prerequisite, just a tradition.
Hotels when they open (this weekend in UK, with limiting restrictions???) will they be able to accept bookings at such short notice?....
I'd like to think these aren't major difficulties, in reality though...they are. Sorry to sound like the voice of doom Liam, but I don't think UK will be available for gigs in time . |

Much as I want to see the band again soon, it wouldn't be right for the gigs to go ahead until the situation with the virus has eased enough for them to be both workable and enjoyable. A concert with everyone sitting or standing two metres apart at all times isn't going to work in practice, and would have a weird atmosphere anyway. (Assuming social distancing is still recommended by October). Better to wait a bit longer, if needed, for when the gigs can be more like they have been before. _________________ "but we can hear what others can't hear..." |

Prime minister announced today that stadiums could re open to audiences for football and gigs from October. Nothing said about smaller venue's. |

Crucially, the concerts will be indoors which will make them even more problematic. The virus has by no means gone away in the UK - there were 114 deaths following a +ve test yesterday alone - and a second wave is anticipated in the autumn/winter. But the govt has not explicitly said that indoor events such as gigs will not happen this year, so the limbo continues.
l bought tickets for the tour back in January (like many others on this list, I guess). Whether or not the company I bought them from will still be in business, whether tickets will be issued for a rearranged tour or refunds offered - all questions yet to be answered. |

I replied to this before, along the lines of...If venues open but with limited capacity under current restriction measures...to ensure all ticket holders have their purchase honoured, there will need to be at least two and possibly 3 gigs (how to arrange who goes to what gig is a thorny issue to be resolved)...but will the bands be willing or able to do the extra gigs (bearing in mind they will also need extra accommodation) and will venues be willing to supply the premises and sundry staff required....all for no extra renumeration. So (in the UK at least) our elected leaders are making statements without discussing the repercussions with those affected. In short our leaders are making the usual politician-empty-promise-noises, because it sounds good but in reality totally unworkable. |
