Six songs into the second half and doing the songs we asked for - total respect Ron & Russell. _________________ But when I trimmed it real small my Jewish friends would never call. |

They've done 3 we asked for.
Why did we bother, should have known they'd go for their favourites.
Shopping Mall Of Love and Big Boy didn't get a single vote!
those Maels.
Still good though obviously! _________________ -Up Here In Heaven Without You.- |

That'd be great. But I bet they bring it out for the encore. |

If they never write another lyric or sing another note, to finish with Whippings and APologies is a perfect epitaph.... _________________ I'll dive back off the mezzanine

No, I just think they're passed over the song - Change makes an appropriate last song I guess (I've got places I've gotta be) _________________ I'll dive back off the mezzanine

They could finish with 'Change'. It's kinda sublime, and they said it was the song they were most proud of. |

Back for "This Town..." Seems to be the end though.
Yeah, I was thinking "Whippings & Apologies" would've been a nice closing number. |

That was out of this world, we probably won't see anything else like it, no one can come close to Sparks. I'm so jealous of the folk who were able to make all the shows, those lucky S.O.B's, lol. Yay, they did "Shopping Mall Of Love" . I didn't think they would leave out "This Town...". Let's face it you can't have a Sparks show without it.

Very nice sendoff show.... what an amazing concept this whole 21 shows thing has been. That second set is kind of a classic example of why it's not a good idea to let the hardcore fans vote for what a band plays, though.... the choices were lacking considering what could have been, and I'm not even saying it should have been all stuff like "This Town", "Number One Song..." and the like. Yes, "Goofing Off" was a GREAT choice, as were "Whippings And Apologies" and "Get In The Swing", but nothing in the world can justify "Shopping Mall Of Love".... that just put such an unbelievably bad taste in my mouth that I had to post. Are you people freaking serious?!?!!? :( |

Shopping Mall of Love is no classic but it was worth it to see Ron and Russell doing their unique kind of duet. Also when you think about it, what else could the final song be but "This Town ..." ? Makes me feel they've gone full circle.
PS Was I the only one sobbing when Ron burnt all the previous albums? _________________ Sparks do it in the dark!
