After visiting several bars in the UCLA area, I think the best one for our needs/wants would be the Westwood Brewing Company. The others were either too "proper" (and overpriced), or were more restaurant than bar. The BrewCo (as it's affectionally referred to by the regulars) is basically a sports bar/restaurant, with a couple of areas to which we can escape from the "sports" part, including a large outdoor patio. They serve burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, entrees (something for everybody), which will save us from having to go elsewhere for dinner. They also have a jukebox (with no Sparks on it). I was there on a Saturday at 5pm (which is when we will be there), and it was fairly empty, save for a few people at the bar and a couple of tables having dinner. It's also very close to Royce Hall. Not walking distance (unless you want to take a 25-30 minute walk), but a 5 minute drive. Here's a link: http://losangeles.citysearch.com/profile/11566467/

There are two parking lots, each one half block away. Also, metered street parking if you can find one. _________________ Interviewer: Does your long hair make you a girl?

Ah yes, I have to pick my ticket up as well.
Can you pick tickets up from will call before the day of the event? If I can, I may pick mine up on Wednesday when I arrive in LA, that way I can be at the above mentioned pub by 5ish |

You can pick up tickets from the box office on UCLA (different place to will call) prior to the day of the gig, but unfortunately the box office is not open Saturdays apparently! _________________ Don't let it get me! |

So is this a definite? If so, what time? Maybe a list of people who are attending? _________________ Now your jokes seem really funny

It's definite as far as I'm concerned. Simon and I will be there, as well as four other friends of mine. Hell, that's a party right there! We'll be there around 5:00pm, possibly a bit earlier. _________________ Interviewer: Does your long hair make you a girl?

Cheers for that :) I'll be picking mine up on Friday morning then from the Box Office at the James West Alumni Centre, as I want saturday free for my doctor who convention, and my afternoon free for food and drink :)
Incidentally "You've Got Mael" I will also try and make the Westwood Brewing Company by 5pm :) Just one question how will I get from there to Royce Hall? Getting to the pub is easy enough as I'll be coming (most likely) by taxi. |

Sorted :)
As for how we all find each other on the day, I guess we just look for Sparks t-shirts, ha! Although I may decide to wear my black shirt and red velvet waistcoat and tie. Guess it depends on how warm it is, lol! |

BTW, I can only give you a ride to the show. Afterwards, you're on your own. _________________ Interviewer: Does your long hair make you a girl?

Thanks to all who came to the pre-show yesterday. A fun group of people, I must say. Very nice to have met you all, and hope to do it again sometime. _________________ Interviewer: Does your long hair make you a girl?
